Automobile Shredder Residue (ASR) Pyrolysis: Successful Pilot Run in Switzerland
Pilot run of TDP-2-200 continuous pyrolysis plant was successfully completed at the production site of Wiederkehr Recycling AG (Switzerland).
IPEC experts carried out commissioning and conducted pilot tests at the first stage, which took place in June 2018. The sawdust was used as material for processing. Dry residue, synthetic fuel, pyrolysis gas were obtained as a result of the destruction.
TDP-2-200 was successfully tested in conjunction with a Capstone C65 in September 2018. Up to 65 kWh of electricity (the maximum figure for this turbine model) were generated due to the pyrolysis gas obtained as a result of the process.
Autonomous generation of electricity from pyrolysis gas will significantly reduce the cost of servicing the Customer’s facilities. Thus, waste will serve as secondary raw materials, bringing economic benefits without harming the environment.
Recall, the Thermal Decomposition Plant (TDP-2-200) was designed for the processing of automobile shredder residue (ASR). The modernized gas cleaning system will ensure full compliance of gas emissions with the environmental standards of European legislation.
